Cupping

Cupping is a therapeutic approach involving the use of small jars in which a vacuum is created prior to the cup being applied over a localized skin area. Stroking motions are made with the cup to release soft tissue restrictions in the deep layer of fascia. Over the last 5 years the staff at Physical Edge have experimented with the use of these “cups” as a form of therapy to release congestion and restriction in soft tissue mobility. We have had excellent results in offering “cupping” as an adjunct in the treatment of a variety of conditions (iliotibial band syndrome, chronic hamstring restrictions, over scarred incisions, chronic Achilles tendon problems) 3-4 cupping sessions is all that is usually required to release chronically tight tissue.
